
Schools in Sequim

The district operates four schools, three are located on one 55 acres campus with the City of Sequim and the other, Greywolf Elementary, is located in Carlsborg. The schools area crowded and the District utilizes 13 portable units containing 22 additional classrooms. Average enrollment for 1993-94 were: Helen Haller Elementary, 670 students in PreSchool, K-5; Greywolf Elementary, 600 students; Sequim Middle School, 650 students in grades 6-8; and Sequim High School, 738 students in grades 9-12, including Running Start students. These students take some or all of their classes at Peninsula College (a junior college). The students at Sequim have traditionally scored higher than both the state and national averages in testing. With more and more early retirements, many retirees arrive in Sequim with school age children. This diversity has a positive influence on the school system.
